Design, Build, Play
New this year, the IU Cinema Academy presents a free Weekend Workshop: Design, Build, Play. Join us on Saturday April 11th, from 10am-4pm at the IU Media School for a day filled with learning, creativity, and the chance to meet others who share your passion for the movies! No experience needed! The workshop is open to students ages 13-18.
Students will meet just inside the front entrance of Franklin Hall (601 E Kirkwood Ave. Bloomington, IN 47405) at 10am. This is also the spot for pickup at 4pm. Please bring your own lunch (a refridgerator/microwave will be available onsite if needed).
Registration is required to attend the workshop, students will not be admitted without completing the registration form. Additionally, a required liability form will be sent out ahead of the workshop.
The itinerary is subject to change, but here is an outline:
10am - Arrival at Franklin Hall
10-10:30am - Introductions and overview of The Media School
10:30-11:30am - Game Development techniques & breakout activity
11:30am-1pm Software Tutorial
1-2pm - Lunch break
2-4pm - Project work time and optional tutorials in other topics
4pm - Pickup at Franklin Hall
