3D Day Camp June 2-6
Greetings 3D Day Camp participants and parents!
We are incredibly excited to host such a talented group of young students in Bloomington this summer and provide a wonderful experience to help you further your passion and create a tight-knit network of friendships as you explore 3D Game Development!
To make the most of your week, we stress that you must read this page thoroughly. If you thought your student was in a different session, then please reply immediately.
First, this year we are switching to electronic forms instead of the paper forms from years past. These must be filled out before your student can attend the camp. Fill them out here!

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP
Drop-off/Check-In
Monday, June 2nd between 8:30-9am EST
Franklin Hall (601 E Kirkwood Ave. Bloomington, IN 47405)
See the downloadable maps which shows information about parking near Franklin Hall. For parking situations where it is going to just be a few minutes, you can find street parking available, use the Poplars Garage (Park Mobile app is used for payment code "44000"), or park in an EM-S/EM-P permit-spot since it will only be a few minutes. In the unlikely event you get a ticket during those few minutes, just let us know and we will get it expunged.
The check-in location is slightly different this year as there is construction in the Commons area.
To best find the check-in area, follow these steps.
- Walk through the Sample Gates (see image in folder above)
- Immediately turn left and walk past Ernie Pyle statue into Franklin Hall south doors. (see image in folder above)
- Upon entering building, immediately walk down the stairs where you will be greeted by staff for check-in.
Staff will be waiting on you at the entrance to the building between 8:30-9am. Please make sure you leave enough time for day-one check-in. It should only take a few extra minutes. You can refer to the maps linked above for further information.
*Should you arrive late, call Andrew, the program Director, at (812) 856-8083 to inform him.
Franklin Hall is also the site of the main camp curriculum throughout the week.
After Monday, students should report directly to Franklin Hall Rm. 073 by 9am.
Daily Pick-up
Monday–Friday, students will be concluding each day at Franklin Hall Rm. 073 at 5pm. They will be escorted to the main entrance of Franklin Hall for easy pickup. You may either enter the building and pick them up from Rm. 073, or you may wait for them at the south entrance (near the Ernie Pyle statue) or the Sample Gates. There will be staff waiting with the campers there until 5:30pm. Please do your best to ensure your student is accounted for as promptly as possible. If you are unable to arrive by 5:30 to pick up your child, please email gamecamp@iu.edu or call the program director.
If you live/work nearby and you wish for your child to walk on their own at the end of the camp day, fill out this form. We will not allow campers to leave on their own on foot without your prior written consent.
Pick-up/Finale Event
Friday, June 6th, from 4:30-6pm EST
Franklin Hall (601 E Kirkwood Ave. Bloomington, IN 47405)
Rm. 073
The finale event will be in the same classroom area where students go each day. Students will be presenting their projects to friends and family open house style. You will be picking up your child after the showcase. See the downloadable maps with information about parking near Franklin Hall.
Since ticketing will still be active until 5pm, we do not recommend parking in an EM-S/EM-P spot for the Friday finale. You can find street parking available or use the Poplars Garage (Park Mobile app is used for payment code "44000")
MEALS
Lunch
Campers will be eating lunch at the Forest Residence Hall Food Court (a 19-minute 0.8 mile walk from Franklin Hall). Each student will be given a meal card that allows them access to the dining hall. All meals are all-you-care-to-eat, so there won’t be any issue of running out of money.
Food Allergies/Dietary Restrictions
Generally, there is plenty of food to accommodate all diet types. An RPS Registered Dietician will be on staff, so please feel free to contact them prior to the session for specific dietary discussions. Customers with life-threatening allergies should use caution. Request to speak with the chef at dining locations to prepare food in allergen-free areas for your specific dietary needs.
To inform us of food allergies or any additional questions, please contact:
Rachel Dolgner
RPS Registered Dietician
(812) 856-5851
THINGS TO BRING
Required: Bring an Umbrella and/or Poncho—Indiana weather is unpredictable and walking in the rain may be unavoidable when walking from one building to another. The walks are typically 15-20 minutes and we don’t want folks unprepared for rain.
Thumb Drive/Lanyard/Meal Card- All of these items will be given to the students at check-in. The meal card can stay inside the lanyard with their name tag. The thumb drive can stay clipped onto the lanyard. Students must bring their thumb drive and meal card with them each day.
Water bottle-A metal water bottle will be given to students at check-in.
